7 Reasons Why You (and I) Need to Visit Portugal

May 28, 2019
visit portugal

Portugal has been on my list of places to visit for a while. In my mind, it’s the European cousin to San Francisco. Home with a Portuguese twist. The hilly terrain, the trams to match our cable cars and a bridge strikingly similar to the Golden Gate. As I get closer to planning an actual… Read More 7 Reasons Why You (and I) Need to Visit Portugal

20 Photos That Will Make You Plan a Trip to Italy

September 10, 2018
trip to Italy

Google is playing games.  I was minding my own business.  Trying to get some work done earlier this week, I glanced at my phone and noticed an alert.  From time to time, Google likes to remind you (via your saved photos) where you were on this exact date, in a previous year.  Usually a photo… Read More 20 Photos That Will Make You Plan a Trip to Italy

Confession time... during quarantine I've become a Confession time... during quarantine I've become a plant lady. No shame, just sayin... my house is getting greener by the day. I've replaced baking with gardening... and my plants have names. It's gotten real round these parts.

Enter this beautiful oasis created by brilliant black women in Oakland.

@blkgirls_greenhouse is a breath of fresh air in an uncertain and volatile time. A simple idea, done beautifully and with the care we need and deserve. Today was my first trip, but it won't be my last.

Travel has always been my go-to joyful activity- with that outlet on hold for a while, I'm learning to appreciate what's in my own backyard. Thankful for the creative energy and beautiful expression of bold black women, today and always!

Wishing you all sunshine, joyful resistance and peace ✊🏾🌿🌱☀️

I got a call from my BFF this past weekend and it was right on time. In the midst of the heaviness I felt from all the chaos in the world, I picked up the phone and Shay was excited.  Talking a mile a minute (which I love her for), she asked me about a t-shirt I designed for her son (my godson) way back in 2007. "S!! We need these shirts again!" Her excitement was infectious and immediately lifted my spirits.

My godson Russ, now a proud Morehouse man, is thoughtful, smart, kind and wonderful.  I believed in him then; I believe in him now.
If you would like shirts for the boys, young men in your life (or yourself!), this t-shirt campaign will be live until June 16th.

Campaigns with new designs will continue to roll out in the coming days, all to honor and celebrate Black and Brown communities.  Stay tuned!

Happy birthday, Russ!!! I see you, I love you and I couldn't be more proud of the person you are.

Wishing you all peace, health and lots of love.
Xoxo,

Sara B.
